Vicki enters this contest with momentum on her side. At the Reckoning event, she managed to secure a victory over De Lander by pinning her in a tag team contest. For Vicki, this opportunity represents more than just another match. It is a chance to validate years of dedication to the sport she loves. In a recent conversation with Fox News Digital, she expressed her frustration with being undervalued despite her accomplishments.
“Look, I’ve been a part of ACW since its inception. I have been the, yes, self-proclaimed ‘Queen of ACW,’ but at the same time, I have been stepped on, walked all over, just overlooked, overshadowed, and I just feel I have 10 other women who have no business being in that ring,” she explained.
Her confidence stems from years of experience and a belief that she has consistently outperformed many of her peers. She acknowledges that while she needs to win the battle royal to earn her title shot, she feels she has been denied opportunities in the past that she deserved.
“And I feel like I’m just going to throw them all over and prove yet again why I should be the ACW women’s champion. Now, I know I have to get the contendership to do that, but there have been multiple times and multiple occasions where I should have been in the title picture or had the title. So, Saturday is going to be a proving ground yet again at why I’m the best in ACW.”
From Childhood Fan to Professional Wrestler
Vicki’s journey into professional wrestling began long before she stepped into the ring herself. Growing up in New Jersey, she developed a deep appreciation for the sport during the Attitude Era, watching WWE Hall of Famer Lita and The Hardy Boyz perform on television. Her fascination started at just four years old, and it never waned.
“I have been a fan for pretty much my entire life. Four years old, I was watching the Attitude Era and just watching these larger-than-life characters and really just fell in love with it,” she recalled. “I always wanted to be like Lita. That was like the initial thing. I wanted to be just like Lita growing up and the Hardy Boyz and what have you.”
Her athletic background and love for performance helped shape her path. She combined her natural athleticism with an interest in musical theater, creating a unique skill set that would serve her well in wrestling. The combination of storytelling, physical prowess, and visual presentation captivated her from an early age.
“I think for me, it was just this perfect blend of acting and athleticism and the outfits and I just think it was just so mesmerizing as a kid,” she noted. “Then as I got older and started having new interests like being an athlete and doing musical theater and stuff like that, I feel like it was just literally a perfect blend of everything I loved.”
Despite facing challenges along the way, Vicki remained committed to her dream. In 2018, she made the decisive move to pursue wrestling as a full-time career, knowing that hesitation could mean regret for the rest of her life.
“All I thought about was wrestling. ‘How am I going to make this a real career?’ Then, I went through some stuff growing up, but it finally happened. In 2018, I finally took the leap and I knew that if I didn’t do it or if I didn’t try that, I would regret it forever. It was like one of those things where I was like, if I don’t live this dream out, I will regret it for the rest of my life.”
ACW: A Premier Independent Promotion
Vicki has high praise for Awesome Championship Wrestling, describing it as one of the most exciting independent promotions in the country. She points to several factors that set ACW apart from other organizations.
“ACW is one of the hottest things going right now,” she told Fox News Digital. “It is literally one of the biggest independent companies right now. There’s everything. First of all, it’s in a historic building. So that’s No. 1 right there. The talent on the card is bar none the best in the world. I think what Vik (Dalishus) and Hale (Collins) are doing and whatnot, it’s really special. It’s been thriving.”
She emphasizes the welcoming atmosphere that fans experience at ACW events. Whether attending for the matches or participating in meet-and-greet sessions, attendees consistently express their enjoyment of the experience. The promotion maintains a family-friendly environment while also appealing to knowledgeable wrestling enthusiasts.
“I think people have a ball. Every single time that I go to a show and whether I’m doing meet and greets or if it’s before the show, after the show, everybody’s just so happy to be there. They are so excited for the show. It’s very family friendly. And it’s for the smart marks, too. It’s just a really great company and I don’t know one person who has had a bad time at [ACW].”
For Vicki, the connection between fans and performers runs deeper than entertainment. She believes that wrestling creates genuine relationships and inspires people to pursue their own dreams, just as Lita inspired her decades ago.
“Us die hard wrestling fans, it’s just the stories and being connected to these people and wanting to be like these people and, believing that, hey, I can do this, too. I think for me growing up, it was a matter of like seeing someone like Lita like jumping on the scene and this beautiful girl and doing all these crazy things, it just kind of made me believe in myself that I could do it, too.”
As Saturday’s battle royal approaches, Vicious Vicki stands ready to seize her moment. With years of preparation behind her and a clear vision of what she wants to achieve, she believes this is the time to claim her place at the top of ACW’s women’s division.
