Hamza Zamara, the store’s manager, explained that employees assisted law enforcement in identifying Fetcher as the individual who allegedly utilized fraudulent payment cards for the transaction.
“We told him, ‘Hey, we know what you’re doing,'” Zamara recounted regarding the confrontation with Fetcher. The staff members had been monitoring the situation closely after receiving reports from affected employees.
The investigation gained momentum after a woman contacted the shop, reporting that an unauthorized purchase had been made using her card. When Fetcher returned to the establishment on a subsequent visit, staff members photographed him and trailed him outside the premises. They subsequently provided investigators with the license plate number of his vehicle, which helped authorities track his movements and verify the timeline of events. “I know this information may be concerning and troubling, and I want to assure you that the City takes this sort of report seriously and has acted accordingly,” she wrote in the email obtained by the Star Tribune.
