Josh Duhamel Puts His Los Angeles Residence on the Market for $2.9 Million

Josh Duhamel lists 2 9M LA home - Actor Josh Duhamel is preparing to say goodbye to his California residence. The 53-year-old entertainer has officially listed his Encino property, situated within the San Fernando Valley region, for $2.9 million. The listing is being handled by Thomas Atamian, who represents Coldwell Banker Realty out of La Canada Flintridge.

According to Atamian, this particular property offers something special. "It's rare to find a property that flawlessly combines dramatic architecture, modern updates and total privacy," Atamian noted in an official statement. He went on to describe the home's unique positioning, which provides sweeping views of both aircraft and mountain ranges from nearly every vantage point. "The defining feature of this home is its positioning. It captures breathtaking jetliner and mountain views from almost every angle. It's an absolute standout offering in a premier location."

Property Details and Features

Originally constructed in 1962, the residence spans 3,310 square feet and includes four bedrooms alongside three and a half bathrooms. Panoramic mountain views surround the property. The interior layout features a great room characterized by impressive high ceilings that seamlessly connect to a chef's kitchen equipped with a substantial center island. The recently updated primary bedroom suite contains two walk-in closets and a private bathroom.

Outdoor spaces provide additional amenities for relaxation and entertainment. Visitors can enjoy an outdoor firepit, a spacious swimming pool, a built-in barbecue station, and numerous areas designated for dining and lounging.

A New Chapter in Minnesota

Duhamel decided to list the property slightly more than twelve months following his conversation with Parade magazine. In that interview, he discussed his choice to relocate from Los Angeles to Minnesota, where he intended to embrace an off-the-grid existence in a home he had been constructing for fifteen years. "The closest store is 40 miles away," he told the publication. "Once we get there, it's really about everybody taking care of each other – making memories, spending time with family and friends."

The actor relocated to Minnesota alongside his wife, Audra Mari, and their two-year-old son, Shepherd. His twelve-year-old son, Axl, whom he shares with former wife Fergie, occasionally joins them from time to time. The family recently expanded in May with the birth of their daughter, Rocca.

Duhamel has expressed that this lifestyle shift enables his family to "get back to the basics," removing many of the distractions that characterize urban living. He highlighted that his older son is no longer constantly glued to his iPad, instead spending his days engaging in sports, exploring wooded areas, and appreciating the natural world. "And then I have a little baby who's going to experience the same thing. Someday, I hope to pass this on to them [so] they're able to share it with their kids. It's really important to me that they have this. It's not just about having all the amenities and all the luxuries that we become so used to. It's really about family. It's about legacy," he explained.

Prepared for Any Eventuality

Beyond reconnecting with nature, the off-the-grid existence has provided Duhamel with additional peace of mind. He has described his rural residence as a "doomsday cabin," suggesting it serves as a refuge should a catastrophic event occur. During a conversation with People magazine in August 2025, he estimated that he was "Probably 70%" prepared for such an apocalypse. "I could be a better hunter, I could be a better fisherman. I could stockpile a little more food supply," he acknowledged candidly.
