Harry Styles pokes fun at Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor with scathing joke during his SNL monologue after the disgraced ex-Prince was arrested amid Epstein files probe
Harry Styles Roasts Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor in Sharp SNL Commentary
During a recent Saturday Night Live appearance, Harry Styles delivered a pointed jab at Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, who was recently arrested on charges of public office misconduct. The ex-Prince, 66, had been scrutinized for his ties to Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted paedophile.
A Boring Break from the Spotlight
The 32-year-old musician returned to the NBC sketch comedy show for a second time following the release of his fourth album, which topped the charts. In his monologue, Styles reflected on his absence from the public eye, quipping that his quiet period had made him “tremendously boring.”
“I took up jogging. There’s nothing interesting about that. But because I’m me, people pretend to find that interesting. I don’t run to be interesting. I do it for the feeling it gives me, that runner’s high. It’s just amazing,” he said.
“Watermelon sugar high, runner’s high. And if that doesn’t do it for you, I also love ecstasy. As a British man who spent a lot of his life in the spotlight, I can assure you, there’s something nice about being boring. It’s better than the alternative,” Styles added.
The comedian’s remarks were accompanied by a visual of Andrew being transported in a police car, a stark contrast to the royal’s previous public persona. After being evicted from the Royal Lodge, Andrew was taken into custody on his birthday from his Wood Farm cottage, part of an investigation into alleged misconduct.
He spent approximately 10 hours at Aylsham Police Station before being released in the early evening. Legal experts suggest the UK Government may propose legislation to strip Andrew of his royal succession status due to the ongoing scandal.
Queerbaiting and a Flirty Bit
Styles also lampooned politically correct fans who accused him of “queerbaiting”—a term for hinting at same-sex relationships to appeal to diverse audiences. His remarks came during a segment tied to his new solo album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally.
“I loved the title because what’s better than kissing all the time?” he declared, prompting Chloe Fineman to eagerly step onstage.
Styles then joked: “Which I don’t actually do. I don’t wanna kiss all the time,” seemingly ignoring Fineman’s hopeful reaction. Later, Sarah Sherman joined the scene as he quipped: “Sometimes kissing can be great,” only for her to exit embarrassed.
“Or if you have a tight little bum,” Styles said, drawing Ben Marshall onstage. “Where’s my kiss?” Marshall asked, referencing the earlier comment. “Come on, Ben, everyone knows there’s nothing little about that thang. You’re hauling a damn wagon back there,” Styles retorted before planting a kiss on Marshall’s lips, sending the audience into laughter.
