Three schoolgirls, aged between 12 and 14, charged after teenager knife attack

A 14-year-old girl was injured in a violent assault last September, leading to the arrest of three female students aged 12, 13, and 14. The incident occurred in Whittington, Worcester, when the victim allegedly sustained multiple stab wounds to her back, neck, and arm. She returned home bloodied around 7:40 PM on September 21, prompting neighbors to call for emergency assistance.

The teenager was taken to Birmingham Children’s Hospital, where doctors confirmed she suffered no internal injuries but had visible scars. Her mother described her as “resilient,” stating, “My daughter is back home now and resting, she’s doing okay, just very sore. She is the strongest and most resilient girl I know. She was stabbed five times in her back, back of her neck and arm.”

“My thoughts are with her and her family at this deeply distressing time, and I hope she makes a full speedy recovery,” said Nigel Huddleston, MP for Droitwich and Evesham. “Local residents are understandably shocked and concerned that such a serious incident could take place in their local community, as of course am I. It is therefore vital that we now allow the police the time and space to proceed with their investigations, so that we can understand exactly what happened.”

Following the attack, the three girls were detained but released on bail. West Mercia Police later confirmed charges against a 12-year-old and 14-year-old for carrying a knife in a public area and attempting to harm someone. The 13-year-old is scheduled to appear in Worcester Youth Court on April 8.

Authorities cordoned off the village park, sealing the area from Clews Close to The Tara, as they investigated the incident. A police statement noted, “Three girls have been charged following a teenager being stabbed in Whittington in Worcester on Sunday 21 September last year. The Crown Prosecution Service has authorised charges for a 14-year-old girl and a 12-year-old girl for being in possession of a knife / sharp pointed article in a public place and wounding with intent. A 13-year-old girl has been charged with assault and is set to appear at Worcester Youth Court on Wednesday 8 April.”
