Murder charge over Primrose Hill stabbing

Primrose Hill Stabbing: Murder Charge Filed Against 27-Year-Old

Finbar Sullivan, a 21-year-old film student, has been officially charged with murder following a fatal stabbing in Primrose Hill. The incident occurred near the viewing point of the North London landmark on Tuesday, leaving Sullivan with severe knife wounds. The Metropolitan Police confirmed that Oliuwadamilola Ogunyankinnu, 27, of Southbury Road in Enfield, was arrested on Friday. He was formally accused of murder on Sunday and is set to appear at Stratford Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

On the same day as Sullivan’s attack, another man in his 20s was discovered with stab injuries on Regent’s Park Road. He was hospitalized, though his injuries were deemed non-life-threatening. The investigation into the incident continues, with a 25-year-old suspect initially detained for allegedly aiding the offender later released without charges.

“All of his friends said he was the light, the leader. His friends’ parents loved him. This is why it’s so tragic,” shared Chris Sullivan, 65, Finbar’s father, speaking to BBC London. He described his son, known affectionately as “Fin,” as a cherished figure whose loss deeply affects the community.

Authorities have not yet disclosed the motive behind the attack, but further details are expected as the case progresses. Updates on the investigation will be provided as new information becomes available.
