Child Dies in Dog Attack, Police Confirm

Cleveland Police confirmed the tragic death of a child following a suspected dog attack. Officers were dispatched to an address on Hardale Grove, in Dormanstown, Redcar, shortly after 1:30 PM BST after receiving reports of a child in danger.

Upon arrival, the child was found deceased, with authorities stating the cause of death was likely a dog bite. The police force reported that one dog was destroyed on the street, while a second was seized from the property.

North East Ambulance Service sent three crews to the scene. One individual was hospitalized for further treatment, though the exact details of their condition were not immediately disclosed.

“This is a distressing and tragic incident, and our thoughts are with the child’s family,” said District Commander Emily Harrison of Redcar and Cleveland Police. “I would urge anyone with concerns or information to contact an officer.”
