Two more murder arrests after boy, 14, shot dead

Two more murder arrests following 14-year-old’s fatal shooting
A 14-year-old boy, Eghosa Ogbebor, was fatally shot in Woolwich, southeast London, on Thursday afternoon. The incident occurred on Lord Warwick Street around 3:40 PM BST, leaving the teenager dead at the scene. Police have since made additional arrests in connection with the case.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that a 16-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man were detained on Saturday. A 46-year-old man was also arrested for allegedly assisting the suspect. Earlier in the week, three individuals—two boys aged 14 and 16, plus an 18-year-old man—were charged with murder and released on bail.
Det Ch Insp Lucie Card, leading the investigation, stated: “Our team of detectives is actively pursuing leads to uncover the circumstances surrounding Eghosa’s death.” She added: “Residents might have noticed heightened police activity overnight, as officers detained three more suspects linked to the case. “We recognize the distress caused by this tragedy, especially within the local community, which will continue to see police presence in the area.”
The officer urged anyone with relevant information or who observed unusual activity to reach out to the authorities. Further details about the case are expected as investigations progress.
