Wayne Rooney makes Tottenham relegation prediction ahead of Liverpool vs Spurs

Wayne Rooney Makes Tottenham Relegation Prediction Ahead of Liverpool Clash

Former Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has sparked debate by suggesting Tottenham Hotspur may face relegation this season, prompting him to advise Robbie Keane against joining the club as manager.

Spurs’ Recent Struggles Highlight Concerns

Igor Tudor’s tenure as interim manager for Spurs has seen a fourth consecutive defeat after a 5-2 loss to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League. The team now heads into a crucial Premier League encounter against Liverpool at Anfield this Sunday, with their position just a single point above the relegation zone.

‘The players need to look at themselves because I think they’ve been an absolute disgrace,’ Rooney stated on Stick to Football. ‘The performances, the attitude, the lack of desire, the lack of fight—there’s a lack of everything in them.’

Rooney’s assessment follows recent struggles, with his confidence in Spurs’ fate growing after observing their recent performances. ‘Last week I didn’t but after seeing what’s happened in the last couple of games, I think they will go down,’ he added.

Gary Neville Offers a Different Outlook

In contrast, former Manchester United defender Gary Neville argued that Spurs are unlikely to be relegated. ‘I don’t think they will go down. I think if you’re going to make another change, for me, probably needs to be today or tomorrow because you don’t wait,’ Neville explained.

‘My view is they will make a change and stay up just. That’s what I think will happen,’ Neville continued. ‘If I were Robbie Keane, I wouldn’t leave a job to go into Tottenham now. If it was Sherwood or whoever who is out of a job, I’d go in, but if I’m Robbie Keane, there’s no way I’d leave a job for Tottenham.’

Neville also emphasized the need for a manager with recent coaching experience. ‘Sean Dyche would take that job now, 100 per cent. To be in the game and have a chance to manage a top-six team, I know they’re not at the moment, but they are a massive club,’ he noted. ‘Tudor’s tried to go in a bit harder, be more regimented and disciplined. It’s not working—they’re 100 per cent rejecting him. They need someone with stronger man-management skills.’
